What do I need for creating a calculator that is better than the abacus I have to use?
PCs are to dumb for correct calculations.

One of the guys at work, who came from China when he was a kid, went back there on vacation last year. He said that China is an anachronism, he saw all these people, who are all using cell phones, still using an abacus to do their calculations, even tho calculators are really cheap over there.
So don't underestimate its capabilities.
I wonder how well an abacus would work on the space shuttle, in zero-G? ;-)
BTW, you will have a hard time getting your homebrew calculator to run on 200 microwatts, which is what the usual LCD calculator takes.
