Help me to identify this piece of equipment

Hello people.

My friend has this device (it does not work), that can be seen at:

It has LCD, alphanumeric keyboard. It is made by Hitachi, and has some Intel microprocessors/microcontrollers inside. No FCC ID.

He thinks this is a PLC device (programmable logic controller), but it's unknown.

Question:

Does someone here know what is this device?

Thanks.

Good for a parts source...

What is the part number on the microprocessor/microcontroller? Is it an 8086, or something else.

Does it have any connectors to interface with other devices? If so, what type are they?

It is a *handheld* device with internal battery; no way can it have an actual 8080. Looks like a Rolodex clone or language translator or language dicctionary. Like i said, only worth the parts.
