This might be off topic, but if you can help I would be grateful.



My neighbours have their TV on until about 3am and the volume loud enough so that I can hear every word. I was wondering if there is something I could buy that could interfere with the TV picture or sound but not damage set. What would be nice would be an effect like when a mobile phone is close to a monitor or TV.



It has be powerful enough to have a range of about 6ft (2m) and go though the floor.



I have asked them to lower the volume at midnight but they have ignored my request.

This is a social problem, not an electronic one.

If you measure the sound level, you'll probably find that you are annoyed by volumes well inside the legal limits.

ANYTHING you do, be it electronic interference or threatening to beat the crap out of him, WILL be criminal and subject YOU to prosecution.

He's not doing anything illegal, but YOU will be...and you won't be hard to find.

Complain to the landlord. Get earplugs. Move.

It sucks that people are so insensitive, but that's life. Almost anything you do will make it worse. mike

I suggest that you get involved with amateur radio. Be sure to use an indoor antenna and lots of power to make up for it. You will then be able to obtain cooperation from them after they call the FCC and have Part 15 explained to them. ;-)

Thanks, do give the amateur radio service a bad name. Why not just run in the CB band to start with?

If he did that, he wouldn't be protected as he wouldn't be a "licensed radio service". It's just a joke man, geez. ;-)
