Looking for plain printer OEM module

Mar 18, 2006 2 Replies

I am looking for a printer that uses plain paper (rolls) and comes in the form of an OEM module (I can't use thermal paper). Any suggestions for sources?

Thanks

Practical Automation used to be a go-to source for embedded impact printers but it looks like they've moved to strictly thermal. However, there may still be a few of their older models on the surplus/hobby market if you only need small quantities. I picked up a DMTP-3 (7-pin impact, 2 1/4" paper roll) from All Electronics a while back. They're out of stock but the description is still on-line at

We use a star printer. Try

They do all sorts of printers, and one can buy the bare modules OEM. We use the SP300 9-pin 40 column dot-matrix printer mechanism.
