Well, we've been there before, and regretted it. After the Democrats get in next month, I expect that sort of foolishness will be reduced.

I am not sure Obama can turn things around. I think GWB has moved things so far all Obama can do is try and ease some of the pain.

Word here is the US has not seen the worst of it yet. AFAIk at least one of the major US car companies will go under.

Interesting contrast. In the past the rest of the world has not understood why the US voters discarded Nixon, Bush I, etc. This time the rest of the world wants the Bush baby out even more than we do.

All the US car companies have been too busy grabbing immediate profits for too many years. However they still have capabilities, and capable personel, if only they would use them.

At least two out of the three do not have the cash to continue in to MARCH 2009.... if that far.

Debuggers, with or without emulator and also with simulator. I prefer "on chip" debugging (BDM etc.). There are very few errors I could hunt more efficiently with an emulator. It would never return the cost.

Only for the first compiler (manufacturer) they use. The second compiler (from another manufacturer) hurts then if they have to use two different IDEs.

a lot of "sound" (noise) => little fun. I have been working several times in large plants. Quite often the environment is not as luxurious (cold or hot, noisy, dirty, dark) as my office.
