Do GBIC converters support 10/100 BaseT links?

I should choose the physical ethernet interface for my access equipment. Requirments are: 10/100BaseT or GigE.

Alternatives are:

1. Copper and Optic different interfaces (RJ45 & SFP) - only one active at a time
2. GBIC interface

Any opinion?
