Communication with a cell phone.

Hi friends, I have several slot machines installed all over my country in Dom.Rep. these machines use a Z80 cpu. What I need is that from a PC at home be able to read(get) some information like statistic from these machines working remotely. I was thinking store the information from the Z80 cpu to an interface card and this interface will have all the information I need, and this interface connected to a cell phone. And from my PC dial the Cell phone and stablish a communication and read the information and the interface. If someone can tell me if this is good solution or maybe exists something like this that I could buy, I will thank you so much.

PD: I do not want to use line phone, there are places that there aren't line services.

This is not uncommon. You can get GSM phone modules to do what you want. They have an Rs232 input and usually take standard Hayes modem commands. Your Z80 should be able to handle it ypu probably will not need an interface card. If you do I would suggest a second Z80.

Hi,

Here's a link that will help:

I'd go for using the nokia interface and talk to a nokia phone and send serial data to it from an embedded controller.

Google for Siemens TC35. "RS232" serial at 3.3V, as easy as the AT command set ever is to use.
