ANN: Simple LPC210x prototyping PCB

I'm working on a simple prototyping PCB for the new Philips LPC210x ARM chips. Details of the draft schematic are here:

I'll be incorporating a sizeable breadboarding area.

I'll complete the PCB layout when I actually get my hands on a couple of chips, hopefully in a few days. I should be able to get away with a cheap double-sided PCB, as all the high speed stuff is inside the chip.

I'll be putting it into the public domain and making the PCB design files available to anyone who wants them.

Hello Leon - Great to hear! Can you provide the board with components? I can solder it myself if needed. What do you think will it costs? I'm from Germany. Cheers - Henry

I've been quoted 5.56 GBP for the LPC2104 by Eurodis. PCBs could be as low as 5 GBP for a small batch. Total cost of parts (including PCB will be about 15 GBP, I should think (guesstimate).

I've just found the PCB footprint details for the LPC210x on the Philips web site, so I can get on with the PCB design. I'll make the pads a bit longer for easy hand soldering.

It will probably be cheaper to buy the Keil/Philips arm kit. Many places are producing good inexpensive ARM kits.

I don't think anyone makes one for the LPC210x.

I've just found that Ashling and Nohau make kits, but they are $200 or so. Philips is making one for about $50, apparently.

Hi, I can confirm that from an Ashling POV. For a low-cost evaluation kit based on the Philips LPC2xxxx family check:

The ASK-2100 kit costs 250 $s which includes an LPC2100 evaluation board with on-board USB ICE. The kit also includes a graphical IDE/Debugger and pre-built GNU ARM tools with Cygwin. The IDE/Debugger are time limited to 45-days, there are no contraints on the GNU tools. Also included are GNU example programs that run on the board. Unfortunately not. It is a little more expensive than that.
