1 Pin MTE Cable

Jun 06, 2008 2 Replies

Hi all,

Does anybody know a good source for a single wire cable which allows me to connect two 0.1" header pins (IDC connectors, JTAG pins etc)? I scanned the web/eBay but only found one source in the US (end of page, 1 Pin MTE Cable),

Unfortunately shipping to the UK is a bit expensive for just a few short wires so I wonder if anybody else knows where to get them from.

Thanks, Hans.

Easy (and cheap) to make your own. You'll need some stranded hook-up wire, a bit of shrink tube for each end to cover the connector, and a bag of connectors like Molex 16-02-0102 (tin, there's also gold plated available). An example (on this side of the pond) at:

After crimping, push down the little tab that would normally be used to secure the connector into a plastic housing. Not absolutely necessary but its function won't be needed and there's a chance it could eventually wear through the shrink tube if left poking up.
