i think you mean series. in any case, if both are 10% then the total string should be 10%. you can look at it this way. lets assume 2 100 Ohms are 10% and they are at their upper limits, which would be 110 ohm each. put them in series, you would have 220 Ohms instead of 200…

What is the overall tolerance of capacitors in serial and parralel ?
for instance, if I have two 10% caps in serial what is the total tolerance? is it still 10% or 20% or 5% or what..??? Is there a formula for this kind of stuff? Thanks
