I agree 100% installing another software just for orkut? nope.
I am re directing my friends to myspace or facebooks, much less of a hassle. This is so inconvenient.

There is no problem with Orkut! The trick to run it in Safari is using this link:

if you type just
formatting link
and Safari autofills "https://" before the "www" and takes you to a different address. Long Live Safari, Apple, Steve....
Or easier yet, type orkut.com and let Safari do it all.
