Need relay recommendations

i would suggest using an optical isolator type relay. use something like a 2N2222 to drive it from your stamp to make sure you don't over do it. just an idea. you can use a conventional relay also with the use of the 2N2222, go to your local radio shaft and pick up a low voltage coil relay., they have them in 5 volt coils with moderate contactor ratings. use the 2N2222 to drive it. P.S. shunt the coil with a diode to absorb the flyback emf.

--Trying to drive something with a Stamp; looking for a relay that can handle, say, 12v and maybe 2A. I know Parallax sells a board with relays on it, but holy guacamole, they want $300.- for it!! Can someone suggest a part number and where to look for just the realay? --TIA,
