Intermatic HB51R dusk til dawn timer

Dec 18, 2011 3 Replies

Anyone know how this timer works. From past experience it's a little bizarre. It somehow depends on what time of day you plug it in.

If no answer here, I'll call them tomorrow, and write the instructions down for next year!!!

It looks like a standard motor-driven 24hr timer. Turn the dial to the current time and set the two tangs for the start and stop times.

"1. Turn dial selector to the ?off? position and plug timer into three conductor outlet.

  1. Turn dial selector to timing interval desired (i.e., 2 Hrs, 4 Hrs, 6 Hrs, 8 Hrs, dusk to dawn, etc.).
  2. Plug outdoor lights into Easy-Set? Timer ? lights will turn on automatically at dusk."

Watch for line wrap above.

Somewhere on the timer there's a photocell - make sure it can "see" daylight.

Actually, it turned out to be ridiculously simple, and not like some guy in the h/w store suggested a year or so ago. It turns itself on at dusk, and off after the number of hours one has set it to.
