Anyone know about this rcvr. I think they began production in 1986, but some years later ceased. I think they are highly regarded. I found a few comments about them on Google, but can't recall where. What I do recall is that it had a power consuption problem (heat), and that it's coverage at 8 something in some units was suspect in certain models. Any comments on the rcvr would be appreciated.

Hi,
I've had one for a decade or more without any trouble although it has been only lightly used. Currently it is employed as a tunable front-end on my HP141T analyzer. I have both the user and service manuals so if I can be of help, please let me know.
Cheers - Joe
One question I have is do they still service these rcvrs? I sent them a message late Friday, but probably won't heard until Monday.
So much for this one. The estate sold it a month ago, but didn't know it.
An excellent receiver. I too have had one for abt 10 years. The American FCC used to use them for monitoring as well. I can also say there is a heat problem. I mounted a small PC type cooling fan at the back to keep it cool.
Otherwise, I wrote a program to control it thru the CIV port with frequency logging into database etc and also record sound onto the hard drive.
If you can get your hands on one, you will never part with it.
