How hot will it get (how much current will it carry)?
What environment will it operate in?
For fairly hostile combinations of the above conditions, Tesla coilers use multiple coats of polyurethane varnish; the kind used on furniture.

Are you using a former or not? If not; the right type of glue (epoxy for example). If you're using a former, otoh, get some of that heat shrink plastic tubing; it's hard to beat. (shrink over any suitable heat source/no tools required)
