Why? Its an obsolete battery that is very expensive. Its a common Carbon Zinc general purpose battery that is a very poor choice. It was used in some early transistor radios. Its about the same as those cheap
9 volt batteries you get at a dollar store.
Service to my country? Been there, Done that, and I\'ve got my DD214 to
prove it.
