As extracting solar energy is expensive & the maintainance cost also is too high, what will be the future of solar projects when compared to other renewable energy sources like wind energy etc.

What maintenance costs associated with solar are you referring to?
Don't you think wind sources have maintenance costs?
Many areas which do not have *dependable* wind power, do have dependable sun power for most of the year. Costs of solar hardware will drop considerably.
Ever heard of hail storms (with the really big stones) and grime deposits ?
Why do windows need cleaning ?

One hopes. Nanosolar is being very tight lipped.
OTOH, if you live on the coast, sea breezes make wind turbines an excellent idea. Just don't expect much power at roof level. They need to be a good 25m /
