--- Another post, another look into that diseased little mind of yours. Who are you to tell _anyone_ what to do?

If someone feels like apologizing, they should apologize and you should have the good manners to keep your mouth shut.

number of people who ignore messages with attachments are few and far between. Plus you get a good argument for free.

Unbelievably, you either missed the point again or you\'re trying to
get some mileage out of this thread at the expense of making it look
like you have very close to _no_ reading comprehension.

The point was, and is, that the attachment intended for a single
person, if attached to a plaintext post in a text-only newsgroup,
most likely won\'t be posted to that newsgroup, so the intended
recipient won\'t get the attachnment. That will result in additional
dialogue having to be exchanged and time wasted, all of which could
have been avoided by posting properly in the first place.

Manners? I neither have, nor need manners when dealing with the
likes of you.

If you want me to stop telling you what not to do, then _you_ need
to stop telling other folks what _to_ do.

Them\'s the rules. If you like \'em, fine. If you don\'t, you can
kiss my ass.

There aren't many ISPs that block attachments. This has been experimented in a text chat group.

Statistics show otherwise. Go back through this thread and count the number of insults you have made.

This does not tie in with your rule-based life.

Explain.

I don't hate authority, I hate silly rules.

term you were looking for was "fullstop".

It may come as a surprise to you that an awful lot of Brits (and other countries) feel the same way. America like to think they rule the world, and constantly try to remind everyone of this.

"Hey, asshole, I'm not the one with a crippled newsreader and a penchant for slovenly thought and communications."

You did not. I am imprecise, I keep telling you this. So what exactly have I done wrong above? (When I say above, you've snipped it....)

Red means illegal does it?

I hadn't thought of it that way until you said so. Looks like you're the disgusting one.

Text is not "bandwidth wasting" - please scrap your 1200 baud modem.

A blonde was playing Trivial Pursuit one night. It was her turn. She rolled the
dice and she Landed on Science & Nature.
Her question was "If you are in a vacuum and someone calls your name, can you
hear it?"
She thought for a time and then asked, "Is it on or off?"

That's a very silly expression, and implies something about your sexual preference.

There are not many things scatological can refer to.

It's negligible.

Then stop moaning about 5kB attachments which take you 0.0039 precious seconds of your life to download.

I moved sci.electronics.basics to a "text only server" just yesterday, because on this server the response time is about 10-15 times faster. (news.planet.nl contra nova.planet.nl). Nova.planet.nl seemes to be using half the night to update all those gigabytes of attatchments, and only starts working properly in the early morning. News.planet.nl seems to respond immmediatly al all times. Bugger the attatchments.

Both my newsservers are instantaneous, carry all posts, and have a decent retention. Vote with your feet.
