Got a reference on this?

AFAIUI, SOP for small satellites is magnetorquers + reaction wheels, but the former use the earth's magnetic field to do a momentum dump.

Yes, you must have their orientation vertical, otherwise, you'll spill out the juice that makes the magic smoke.

Methinks you should ask our original wonderkind, skybuck flappinginbreeze. He would be the best in understanding your craziness; this being on his level..

This makes so much differnce that if you spin the trs round in a centrifuge you can put well above rated current through them.

It works... the air whizzing past cools them nicely :)

I think this is not correct. Some satellites use indeed coils for positioning, but those work against the earth magnetic field.

They're a coil of fiber plus some optical interferometry magic that uses the Sagnac effect. There are some very nice ones available these days.

Attitude control.

Yup. Magnetorquers, aka torque rods. But they don't look anything like a "large coil of wire", so I'm not sure that Ian is referring to.

Than you ferry much. I have proofed this to be true now, but needed to put my amplificatore on the side. This because is printed circuit board is against side . I notice the little highs, like in cymballs much clearer. Also playes sea of holes from Beatles white double vynil. In sea of holes you can perhaps hear a bit more bass, but not much with my spiekers.
