Widlar super follower

I have this experience pretty often looking at Bob Widlar’s designs.

In that case I think you should recalibrate your definition of what an expression of bewilderment is. In much the same way as you should recalibrate your opinion of what computers can do. I've never seen you go so quiet so quick when Professor Hebisch told you that.

Well, you're not going to get 2300 at 20ma and 0.7Volts Vce, that's for sure!

Rohm do make some nice parts. The old intersil IT124 dual NPN is second sourced by Linear Systems. That has a beta of about 2750 at a Vce of about 1.7V in the 10's of uA collector current range (breadown is 2V). Still a useful part. They also do the superbeta LS303.

Mind you, they're probably of no use for this application where your goal is presumably minimal input voltage noise.

I don't think that I'll bother. Some people that post here do know what they are talking about pretty much all the time, but you aren't one of them.

And in which thread was that? What computers can do does depend on the programs they are running, and there are a great many programs out there

- some of which one can download for free.

Bob Widlar was famous amongst people who did sold state electronics. It's not a large group. I met Barry Gilbert once. I rarely meet people who might realise that he was famous. I like to claim that my father was world famous amongst paper chemists - all 150 of them.

She was right to be concerned about his drinking - everybody else was. I don't know if it killed him, but when we sent our ultra-sound machine off to Glasgow around 1978, it diagnosed more enlarged right ventricles (a symptom of cirrhosis of the liver) than enlarge left ventricles (the usual sign of heart disease).

Yes 0.6V does work but that 0.6V is rather variable, but I guess zero is always the same, and it is the same for both devices in the pair?

It looks as if it would have been the "Re: Le Tout Nouveau Testament" thread, but Waldek Hebisch didn't directly react to any of my posts there, and does seem to roughly share my point of view.

I suppose I can blame your capacity to misread what you see, but it's still an odd claim.

Therefore it should be obvious that that's not the thread I meant.

You can blame anything you like but the facts are that you have a very short memory. Or more likely a selective memory. if (input = criticism) then delete() or attack();

I have started to divide this file to separate libs for BJTs, FETs, Opamps... The collection has simply grown too big. (It won't stay on dropbox forever.)

The simulation itself does not require exotic things.

How convenient. Strange that you haven't taken the chance to specify which thread you did mean.

I have an unusually good memory. This is one of those "facts" that you have chosen to invent, perhaps like the thread where Waldek Hebisch allegedly admonished me.

Like pretty much everybody else I'm much better at remembering stuff that can be organised into a coherent whole. Your organising principle seems to be to distort what you remember to get it to fit into what you'd like to believe.

Like most egomaniacs, John Larkin wants the situation to revolve around him, and responds to every mention of his name.

More characteristics like this guy are coming out.

"John+Gabriel"mathHe's unusually good at maths, or so he likes to tell people.

The idea is from the days when JFETs were unsuitable for a differential amplifier. Tektronix got much farther with its bootstrapping and JFET linearization techniques.

I don't like making statements like that. It's hard to provide objective support for that particular statement. It would be even harder for you to provide any objective evidence for your claim the I have a "very short memory" but detail like that doesn't seem to worry you.

Do keep on arguing by tossing in imagined "facts" - it just emphasises that you don't know what you are talking about.

Keep behaving like this guy if you must.

"John+Gabriel"mathIt emphasises your personality.

Nobody seems to know who "John+Gabriel"math might be. Asserting that my behaviour resembles his is a rather pointless insult in this context.

We know you are thick as brick. You don't have to labor the point.
