Virtual Private Servers for LTspice has it been tried?

I'm looking to use a Virtual Private Server (VPS) for running circuit simul ations using LTspice and experiment with other software. (Some is business related and some is hobby related )

Due to restrictions I'm constrained to the software I can use at work and w ant to be able to demo the software (Yes, I can ask the IT department to in stall software but that's a hassle and as some is hobby related they won't allow that). ... Hopefully I can remote desktop from a browser so the idea of working remotely from anywhere on any pc/mac etc is very appealing/conve nient .

The questions are ...

Has anyone found a good free host? Has anyone any experience to advise if this is possible and if it is worth looking further in to?

I'm not adverse to paying and some of the rates I've seen are OK (0.18$ per hour seems good value to me)

Windows is a preferred OS (for LTspice) but a Linux OS running Wine would a lso work for me.

Any advise is welcome.

I'm still digging and intend to get an account with somebody next week to t rial the idea.

Thank you.

Fred

We once rented a server farm from Amazon, to run a slow Spice sim. It wasn't any faster than running on a quad-core PC here.

.step makes things run a lot faster, as does tuning the time step.
