Trying Out Drawing Tablet with LTSpice

I bought a 'Bamboo Pen' graphics tablet to try out for schematiccapture in LT Spice.Tablet area is about 6" x 3.5" which is a close match to mywidescreen aspect.I've never used a drawing tablet before.$110CanAfter 5 minutes of use I've concluded the following:1) Putting the pen down and picking it up is a pita.I put down the pen to use both hands on the keyboard.(Back to store for pen holder?)2) I still work faster with a mouse but I suppose I need practice withthe pen.3) The cursor moves when the pen is 3 to 5mm off the pad. That's cool.(I haven't Googled yet on how that is achieved. Will gladly readresponses about that.)However, floating the pen and making a 'hen peck' on the pad hascaused me some misdirected part placements.iows.. It's me. When I bring the pen down, I'm changing the xyposition at the same time.4) So far using a graphics tablet seems less strenuous than my 'clawgrip' on a mouse.Anybody tried out/using a graphics tablet for ltspice and pcb layout?D from BCAmateur smps designerBritish Columbia, CanadaPosted to

I think what he's complaining about is that the tablet has something like a

4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, and this doesn't work so well for controlling a mouse pointer if you stick two monitors side-by-side and hence end up with an 8:3 or 32:9 (or thereabouts -- some widescreen monitors are 16:10...) aspect ratio.

Of course, the obvious solution is to just get *four* monitor arranged in a

2x2 grid. :-)

I have two Viewsonic VS912 monitors side-by-side and the mouse moves smoothly from one to the other.

But I usually have a schematic on the left monitor, and the PSpice simulations on the right. ...Jim Thompson

Yes.. Big screen area+little tablet = pen too hyper

Movements on a 6"x8" tablet have to scale up to 40" x 15" of monitor area. (Dual 24" set up.)

That's a 5:1 ratio on the x. Example:

1mm on the tablet = 5mm travel on the screen. It's too sensitive!

If I haven't messed up somewhere then imo...mouse beats Wacom Bambo Pen drawing tablet for pcb CAD and LTSpice work.
