It's Cranberry Bean season again. They are hard to find but we scored

10 lbs at the Alemany Farmers Market.[1]

I find that they are a lot easier to peel if you snip the skinny end off diagonally with scissors first.

Do any of you get these?

[1] parking is a nightmare unless you park way up the hill and hike a couple of steep streets and the Tompkins Stairs. So we don't buy watermelons.

Nope, but I have grapes and some strawberries in the garden. Apple trees in front of the house and even down the street.

Mostly seen them called "Roman beans" around here, as not to confuse with the cranberries that grow in bogs, but distinct from lupini beans, which were eaten by the ancient Romans, still a great snacking bean:

They are called borlotti beans in Italy. You can get them dried in bags from Amazon, but the fresh ones are a lot better.
