Hi, Does anyone know of a supplier for this chip that will sell small quantities outside the USA? Am wanting the DIP-8 package version. thanks for your help, JEFF

If you search digikey.com and mouser.com for TDA2822 (without the H) several interesting items come up.

I leave it up to you to decide whether you can live with SOIC (available now from Digikey) or if you want to wait until June for the DIP version at mouser.com.
Double-check the specs against the -H version you have.

You mentioned you're outside the US (New Zealand?) Ordering the part, plus SOIC-to-DIP adapter, plus shipping from the US to your destination, could be a good chunk of money. You sure it's not more economical to build from scratch, or just buy a new one?
For example, if parts + shipping =3D $20, and you could buy a new amp for $10, well, you'd be wasting time doing the repair route.

If you think you can settle for the M suffix in the
8-pin DIP instead of the H (H apparently is a high temp part), I'm told that Ebay items that come up on this search use that chip:"stereo speaker dock cradle"
US$6.98 delivered to the US, don't know about elsewhere. The typical origin is Hong Kong, so they should be able to get it to you. It's just a speaker dock for an MP3 player or ipod/iphone.
Or, you might find something that looks remarkably similar at your local store where miscellaneous electronic items are sold.
