There seems to be a lot of semi fabs being built in the USA lately.
I'd expect that cheap energy is involved, but electricity in California is crazy expensive. Land, too.
Better SiC fets sounds great. The Wolfspeed part that I used a couple of years ago was horrible to drive.

Germany is what's crazy expensive. Last I checked, their average rate for residential electricity was $0.40/kWh, maybe 2x the average price in the U.S. And it's probably all the new rules for EV rebates requiring American manufacture.

Well, we did fabs in the 70's. Just not the really small stuff. It was just less expensive to go overseas.
