Tek apparently made these two ways, one with a short nub on the end, and one with a longer thing, like a normal scope probe.

It looks like the insulator is crimped into the end of the tube, so if you (eg, I) try to remove it, it crumbles.
The probe tip is sort of like a nail, with a rounded head that pushed against the flat gold business-end of the sampler hybrid. The long-probe version gets bent and loose and swivels around, mostly useless for probing things.
I guess I'll try to solder a short sharp pin to this one, and pile epoxy around it. Or maybe conductive epoxy would be better than solder, on the gold.
