Hi...does anyone have a code for controlling the speed of the two wheels of a robot vehicle? the microcontroller is PIC16F877 and it is programmed in MicroCode Studio Plus.the logic to be used is HPWM.

we used a frequency to voltage converter(LM2917)to read the encoder frequency.

Looks like some type of high level language development system. Maybe real handy, I don't know; I just do assembler.

Now thats a really bad idea. Change real, digital, position information into some kind of voltage. Then what do you do with the voltage?

we give the voltage as input to the microcontroller and compare with a set value to get some control signal.do you have any better ideas?

The usual way is to count pulses from each wheel to determine its position and to adjust the power levels to keep the counts equal. Speed is determined by the rate of the pulses.

That definitely sounds all right.
