Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to reduce the gain of a TDA8233? The data sheet is a bit light on...
Any help appreciated.
Best regards,
Adrian

TDA7052A may do what you want. only the 'A' version has a gain adjust. The
7052 doesn't.
Have you tried some resistance in series with pin 7.
Thanks heaps, looks interesting, I can set the lower gain with the volume control which is nice. I don't understand how to calculate the power dissipation though? And in the text it says the volume control is 80dB range but on the graph in figure 3 it shows > 100dB. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the reply Win. I Don't actually have a TDA7233 (not TDA8233) to play around with yet as im still trying to choose the best one. I am from Australia and I think Digikey is the only place I can get these parts from easily so I want to choose carefully.
I have noticed on the TBA820 (that I can get from Farnell) they use a resistor but I don't really understand what's going on there and it not very well documented. It would be nice to have an amp that I could run from
9-12V with a gain of 6dB so I could get around 1W in my speaker.Regards
