Probably a 22 gauge drywall stud. Look at Home Depot, Lowes, Foxworth-Galbraith

Yup. I built this barby out of steel drywall studs 15 years ago. Now I can't find them at Home Depot OR Lowe's :-(

Find a Foxworth-Galbraith. I think there is one in Mesa and I seem to remember one in Chandler. Just make sure and tell them you need drywall studs. If you can find some place where they are working on a commercial building interior build out you might be able to get a couple from them. I think these guys still use drywall studs for the interior walls.

You might be able to find a HVAC guy that still bends metal, but most these guys use the fiberboard now.

Jim, what do you need it for? Rebuilding your barbeque? You said sheet metal, which means steel. If Home Depot and Lowe's don't have steel studs, look up a construction supply place in your area. Hard to believe steel studs would actually be impossible to get in a major metropolitan area. Might be available even from a local lumberyard. HD and Lowe's are not lumberyards. Anyway, what's to keep you fom using angle iron that already has quarter or

3/8 iinch holes all along its length, which makes it easy to bolt together? I can get stuff like that at my local hardware store, though admittedly not cheap as studs.
