I don't preach hogwash. I ridicule anti-global warming propaganda when it shows up here. It's a subtle distinction, and one that clearly escapes you.

You may see it that way, but since you don't seem to be up to perceiving the balance between sense and nonsense when it comes to anthropogenic global warming, your perceptions in other areas might be seen to be less than reliable.

Let's just say that I'm unwilling to push the load of bull-s*it that you seem to favour.

I must admit the Bill has finally been self-describing, especially the lost luster some decades ago.

An odd reaction, given that I've moved from speciality to speciality. My last job involved - amongst other things - measuring the conductivity of the liquids involved in washing and rinsing beer- bottles on their way to the filling staion in a brewery. The first detergent was hot 2% sodium hyrdoxide solution (85C), with a conductivity of 300mS/cm and the last rinse was regular tap water with a conductivity of 300uS/cm.That a 1000:1 range, and I came up with a practical circuit to do the job that fitted in a fake beer-bottle and could run - for a year - from a non-rechargeable lithium battery (the only kind that could survive the 85C).

The last time I'd done anything like it was some 25 years earlier, when I'd put together a circuit to distinguish between milk and milk foam. It had to run from a milk-tanker's lead-acid battery, which did allow more power-hungry solutions.
