If you want to precis my argument, don't put your precis in quotes and attribute it to me - this is, strictly speaking lying.
Alternative answer. The Government bought the loans because the banks lied to the government about the loans they were selling them. James Arthur has this theory about bankers doing no wrong, but there's a lot of counter-evidence that he can't seem to bring himself to believe.
