pull up and down voltage

I am working on a position sensor and and am trying to understand it's maximum and minimum output voltages and its effect to my controller. The sensor output voltage range I am working on is about 3.5VDC.

I'd like to offset the sensor output about five percent. I think pulling the output down should be relatively straight forward with a resistor on the signal pin lead, but I'm not sure. I'm confused on what we'd due to pull the output up 5%.

Can someone please sketch me up a circuit for each scenario and let me know what parameters I would need for the circuit.

Tell us what your sensor is - ideally with a manufacturers part number and/or a link to the data sheet - and we may be able to give you useful advice.

For some sensors a pull-up or a pull-down reistor will produce the effect you want, but many have buffered outputs, which would only see the extra resistor as an extra load to drive, and for this class of devices the resistor would not produce the desired effect.

This is a noncontact rotary position sensor. It uses a 5VDC supply.

what are those voltages?

and its effect to my controller.

why? What is your reason for having to do this?

I think

samo, samo.

Probably not with out more specific information including the reason for doing any of this in the first place.

Could you be a little more specific?

Of course. What was the question?
