Protek 6500 RS-232 interface cable

Where can i get one? (lost mine in a move) The CD that came with the Protek indicates its for the Mastek MS8218. But all BabyBird searches point to the meter with interface and not to the cable. Left messages to retailers; do not expect much even from those that know how to read.

After a lot of searching, it seems that the Fluke PM9080-101 OPTICAL TO RS232 INTERFACE ADAPTER Cable For Fluke 43B may be useable. *BUT* Everyone and their pet goldfish wants about $200 for the damn thing never mind the price for meter plus interface is similar.

and look at their DMX-ADLCZR6-03 LC Adapter Loop Back Singlemode for $14.10. That gives one the polished fiber interface to the meter (not quite mechanically correct, but close). And someone posted a schematic (but ain't the diodes backwards?). So...

MORE searching; found at RS-232 Optical Cable for 320 Series Digital Multimeter by Ideal Industries for $34.97 (MUCH more like it). BUT.. Will it work with the Protek?

I recall that these cables all follow a common de facto standard.

Then there must be two "standards". One interface cable (Fluke) seems to be as wide on the optical end as the DB9 end; the other a lot smaller (goodmart 320) - almost square cross-section like what would be for the Protek. What makes this hard, is there seems to be NO DIMENSIONED DRAWINGS - so much for a "standard".
