Was thinking of using a car radio at home. Specs read current consumption 1.5A (at .5W). The fuse is 5A.
DC power supply should be at least 1.5A but can I go up to 4A without harming the radio? Not sure if I would gain any improvement in sound.
Thanks!

If the power supply voltage is correct the radio will draw as much current as it requires (up to the maximum available obviously) so a
12VDC 4A power supply should not damage a car radio.
The specification 1.5A at 0.5W suggests that the radio may need more than 1.5A at powers higher than 0.5W. If this is the case you may get some distortion when using the radio at high volumes with a 1.5A power supply.
Maybe you have a good reason for using a car radio at home, but radios are not very expensive and it may be better to just buy a radio - it may actually be cheaper to buy a radio than a 12V power supply.

Hello,
A larger supply (=capable of delivering more current) will not harm your car radio (only your wallet). Make sure that it is a stabilized DC supply. Check the no-load voltage before connecting to the radio! it should read about 13.5V.
