Alright. I read up on Gel Cells, and they seem pretty good. Can I also get these for relatively cheap from RadioShack? And if I do get these, how do I hook them up with my CD player?

Assuming your existing wall wart (plug-in power supply) is in fact, 12VDC, then carry it along with you to the Radio Shack. I don't know if they have gel cells, but there might be a specialty store near you that would carry them. Anyway, show the RS kids your existing 12VDC plug, and they have a sort of comparator thing (at least at the one near me) it's a little panel with all of the styles of power plugs and sockets that they carry; there's about a dozen - and they'll be able to match it up. Look at, or measure, the polarity of your existing PS, buy the matching plug, and connect positive to positive and negative to negative. :-) Whoever sells you the battery should be able to tell you how to connect to it.
