Thirty years ago I had four racks and a desk full of equipment and a PDP-11/34 (/35, a few years earlier) to run it. I don't need all that stuff anymore. The Agilent lunchbox scope replaces the equipment in half those racks.

This was a lot more than a scope & computer. Network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, various power supplies, RF Power meters, and signal generators from under 1 Hz to 11 GHz. Eprom progrmmers, Jtag, and ISP progammers, and a lot of other odds & ends. Some had close to 100 pieces of test equipment & alignment jigs at their workstations. We had multiple product lines and worked from DC to 11 GHZ. The whole idea was that a tech could set up and do a wide number of jobs without reseting a bench. Just roll a cart of equipment out and replace it with a different set and plug in one power cord. We had nine different product lines when i started, and the oldest was only built to order as spares or replacments for older telemetry systems.
Show me any scope that can do that job.
Politicians should only get paid if the budget is balanced, and there is
enough left over to pay them.
