OT- Wankers

What do you mean by "see thru him?" W is pretty much wysiwyg to me.

Where do you live, and are professional engineers there uniformly wise?

I'm a Wanker, but I'm not like George Bush.

In that case, you need not have asked the original question.

You're not thoughtful, not interesting, and not funny. Do you know anything about electronics?

Considering how low his approval ratings are nowadays, there is no reason to suppose that any profession falls entirely in the Bush camp.

Do all professional engineers in your country (New Zealand?) misspell "through" as "thru," or are some well educated and literate?

You are confusing wisdom with knowledge.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I voted against him all three times...

Once for Governor and twice for President.

I was wondering if all Americanos were Wankers like George Bush or if (surely at least) professional engineers in the U.S are intelligent enough to see thru him.

"Thru" is just as incorrect in the US as anywhere else.

There is no need for argument. You asked a question, although it obviously contains an implicit assumption, and I guess that could be considered a statement, but certainly not an argument.

By the way, is "spelt" a correct conjugation of the verb "to spell" or is it only a noun?

Several people have answered it, after a fashion, including me. Nobody wants to give a straight "yes" or "no" answer because you have worded an implicit assumption into the question, and people resent endorsing implicit assumptions, even when they agree with them.

Wysiwyg - in that case how did he get away with all the lies and cover-ups over Iraq? Blind faith?

I spelt it thru so that Merkins would understand the spelling - like color or labor. I suppose if you have no argument you can always go for the spelling.

I actually feel sorry (honestly) for your average US squaddie that has to cover up the mess that their leaders put them into. Laying their lives on the line and for what? I apologise for stirring you up a bit but it appears to me that there are a great many intelligent people in the US but they apear to remain silent. What's that fanous quote, something like 'For evil to flourish, all that is required is for good men to remain silent'
