OT: Popular Mechanics "How To" booklets

Yes, i am asking about the booklets (NOT the magazines) from at least the 1950's (but before the 1970's as i remember). The Baby Bird (GooGull) "hits" are at least 90% for the magazine, and the balance also does not count. Site snooping on some of the "recommendations" produced nada WRT to what i am looking for.

What i am looking for is the one about (AC) transformers; 50 and

60Hz, E-core and C-core. Sets of tables, each one organized 1st column by power; giving turns per volt, core area, a design factor, and i do not remember what else.

Q: where can i get that booklet - either used paper or online? Thanks.

Perhaps if you used a real search engine such as google, instead of that bird thing you are always babbling about? Feb., 1950, online at

FYI (for your information), "Google" can be broken up to "Goo gle" and transformed slightly to "goo gull" and stretched to "baby bird". As if you did not know.

Thanks for the reference. Am sure there is a part 2 and maybe part 3. No clues as how to find the other parts.

If that's the name FB did the bulk of the work for you.. for example, check out fab books in NYC for $14 (via Amazon), but do it PDQ

"Originally a brick and mortar store in NY which has succumbed to the high cost of operating a business in NY and does not have any more employees. We sell on-line to help defray our school and property taxes each year. If it keeps getting worse we have Florida all set to move to."

I suspect it is going to keep getting worse...
