As a demo of what dedicated amateur astronomers can do - there was a solar transit of the ISS earlier today captured by one of the top Greek amateur astronomers noted for his spectacular images on analemmas.
Likely to appear on NASAs APOD site soon - his previous shots have.
Worth visiting his home page too - favourite images are *very* good.
