OT: "dig" your senators..

Yet Central Florida voted Alan Grayson out of office.

Did that character ever consider those votes were to show the voter's distaste for the other candidate?

From an investment newsletter:

Yesterday's elections did remind us of something important ? Democracy is a farce. Most of the people who vote have no idea what they're doing... or even for whom they're voting. If you don't believe us, just look at what happened in California: Voters re-elected Jenny Oropeza to the California state senate. She's been dead for weeks. No matter. The people do what they think they're supposed to...

Well, that's what we got in California with Prop 25. Provides for a simple majority to pass a budget while still requiring 2/3rds to raise taxes. Also forfeits legislators salary until a budget is passed. Sounds good, but the details are unclear about adding extra fees into the budget which are not considered taxes. Somehow, I think they will stick it to us in extra "fees", and not call it a tax.

If ever there was a signal-to-noise problem, the midterm election is it! What about that fellow, Greene(?) up in South Carolina. I don't even know how that guy got on the ballot. Was he even a real candidate???

I suspect what is really going on is Americans are too impatient. We dug a deep hole during the Bush & Clinton years and I submit that no president (Dem, Rep, Ind, or TeaParty) can fix this country in two years time. We'll vasillate back and forth between the parties - frustrated with all of them that all our wealth left the country long ago.

Perhaps that is a structural flaw in the system. The election cycle is shorter than the time it takes to truly fix systemic problems in capitalism. Just a thought..!

At least Florida is rid of that Grayson clown.

Borrowing your way out of debt takes time--more than two years--but it works faster if you try to spend your way to prosperity at the same time.

Even better--print money. That way everyone can have more...

Now he can go back to DC, where he is licensed to practice law. He claims to be a lawyer in Orlando, but isn't recognized by the Florida bar.

For those who don;t know what we're talking about:
