Where do you think those range hoods typically vent? They don't build a chimney, they vent it out the side or a bubble on the back roof. Ovens don't have a vent. And after that, what;s the purpose to then venting the whole kitchen up a chimney? I guess that's why they don't exist. In modern houses, if you were going to vent a whole room like that for fresh air, you'd use an air-to-air heat exchanger and again, that does not involve a chimney.

The socialist argument is that if you keep people fed and housed when they aren't earning, they will stay healthy enough to work when work does come a long.

It pays to spend money on training and educating them when they aren't work ing because this should make them more productive when the can get work (an d if they are trained in skills that society needs, they can get work as so on as they have been trained).

Keeping the kids fed and in education when their parents are out of work is another long term investment. In the US, kids growing up in single parent households don't do a well - in the long term - as kids who grow up with tw o parents. The part you're forgetting is that Medicare for all puts the govt into the medical insurance business for everyone and puts private enterprise out of business. Bernie has bragged about doing exactly that. And as part of it, they heavily regulate the underlying health industry to make it do what they want it to do.

How about this idea? Why don't we find out what exactly is wrong, what's broken, why the same economic forces that deliver everything, housing, food , energy, clothing, cars, very cost effectively, doesn't work well with healthcare? I'd like to see an independent commission appointed, lead by someone like a Jack Welch, Andy Grove or Bill Gates to find what the problems are and why they can't be fixed with a free market approach.
