Nice low impedance

T106-26 core, 10 turns quadfilar 16 AWG.

Since the application is a dual inductor, that should have low leakage, and uses doubled up wires for ampacity, I figured I might as well wire them as "star quad".

TDR shows 5ns (reflection, actual length 2.5ns), and 13.85 ohms. Nice and low.

I started with about a half meter of wire, so 2.5ns is 2e8 m/s, or a velocity factor around 0.67. Not bad for generic Soldeaze insulation and crummy air gaps.

Coupled inductor: Rdc and inductance?

Thanks, - Win
9.2uH (per winding), Rdc is whatever a quarter meter of 16 AWG has.

Rac is far more significant. Those yellow-white #26 cores are s*it. But that's fine in my application, for once!

Let's see, 2.5ns of 13.8 ohms at c = 0.67 c_o, is about 5nH. Suspiciously low leakage for half a meter of anything! If that's right, then k =

0.99973.

Nice winding job. Was that hard on the hands ?

Yes.
