Tahoe used to be a little local thing. Now the dinky Truckee airport is jammed with private jets.
One house on the lake is available for rent at $24,000 a night.
These sorts of places have outrageous kitchens, but of course they are for show and aren't actually used for cooking. There's a "butler's pantry" where the hired help actually cooks.
It doesn't show how they make their electricity and how the get their water, etc.
If you have money to burn, that is. It's not worth a cent more than 34.

Hideous dump looks like a cookie cutter revival of American Craftsman architectural style except it's too open. With the excessive seating and tasteless decorum, it looks a lot like one of those retreat house resort places for corporate management types.

Too open indeed. Some of the living rooms around here look like bowling alleys with coffee tables.
After I buy it, I plan to hire some architects, gut it, and do it all over.
One of my neighbors did that, bought a completely upgraded house for megabucks, and then brought in an army to rework it. He works for google.
Who wants to live in a 10,000sf house? People who never experienced living in one.
