"Traditional" communists seem to have more in common with feudalists. The modern type seem to have more in common with technological-singularity-ists, Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and various space-cases who think it would be best if everyone became a-gendered gay robots.

Of course not, the number of people who've read any Marx is pretty small
- even among communists.
It's an orphan ideology from the 1800s when it was common to believe "political science" was a real science and related to Darwinian natural selection, somehow.

Even Euler seemed to throw up his hands with it eventually, after being intrigued at first, pretty damning testimony as I don't believe Euler was a man who tended to say "I was wrong" easily.

When a perfectly sensible idea like universal health care can be vilified for being socialist, to the extent that the US sticks to a system that costs half as much again per head as the health systems in other advanced industrial countries, while not delivering better any health care to the well off who can get the benefit from it, you've got an obvious problem.
Squealing about "Marxism in education" is rather like bleating "four legs good, two legs better". George Orwell was a socialist who understood that Marxist communism wasn't in the least socialist - something that the international socialist movement had understood back in 1871, when they kicked out Karl Marx and the proto-communists for being undemocratic.
You are a bit behind the game. A life-time of indoctrination can have that effect.
