My continuing saga with power supply bypassing

Not all obesity is due to fast food. Some is caused by health issues. I rarely eat fast food, (A couple times a year) and I reduced my diet from 3300 calories a day when I was in good health (I weighed 155-175 pounds for years). Now it is less than 1800 calories a day, yet I continued to gain weight until I weigh 270 pounds. Every time I get a low level infection, I put on weight. As soon as its gone, I lose the weight, and usually pretty fast. The first time this happened, I dropped from 223 pounds to 175 pounds in under a month, while eating over 3000 calories a day.

The infections tell my body to store fat, and slows down my metabolism. If I reduce the calories any lower than 1800 per day, I quickly lose muscle mass. The biggest problem is to find a doctor who even gives a damn. The last one said, "Well, at least its just low level. It doesn't show up in your blood work, so you can just live with it."

The problem is that long term low level infection causes damage to the heart. I have lost so much strength that I can barely walk through a few isles at the grocery. My diet was approved by a dietitian, who suggest that I add a half cup of orange juice for more carbs, but the rest of the diet i prepared was excellent.

I am in constant pain, but the VA isn't allowed to do what I need to get well. I don't expect to be alive much longer, if I don't have two infected teeth removed in the next week or so. I wake up screaming in pain, and so dizzy I can barely stand up. The center of one of the infected teeth is black and crumbling. There is nothing to support the enamel, so i have razor sharp pieces that cut my tongue and lip. That same doctor told me "I've seen worse"

I had one of the abscesses break a few years ago. I spent 12 hours sweating the crap out of my blood stream. By the time it was over, I had to burn the pajamas I was wearing, along bed sheets and pillow. I had to buy a new mattress and box springs, because I couldn't get the stench out of it. It took about two weeks to get it out of my skin, as well. I alternated between being afraid I was going to die, and praying that I could.

This is my fifth round of badly infected teeth, since 1972. It is caused by the way the roots curve back into the bone, creating pockets that allow the infection to form pockets. X-rays show no signs of damage in the tooth, except at the root, were there is nothing you can do to prevent the problem.

Wasn't it "greasy" who posted a picture taken in dental chair... with a completely rotted-out mouth ?:-)

I have been puzzling out how I would connect several capacitors as a bypass, without eating up lots of real estate, keeping the resonances low Q and the impedance of the ground currents very low. The best I could come up with is posted to alt.binaries.schematics.electronics.

I am interested in how it could be improved, in case I ever try this technique.

Is the intent to lowpass the power trace that enters at the top, for some load at the bottom?

sounds like you may need your teeth removed and fitted with dentures, a friend of mine had the same type of problems (well can't say if it is exactly the same problem) and that is what she did, that was a long time ago, (25 years) so probably there are better solutions now

I have been trying since August, 1972 to have them all removed, but they all want to play the "We can save every tooth, even if it kills the patient bullshit". I spent thousands of dollars in the '80s to get the upper teeth out, but the old oral surgeon retired before I could schedule the same for my lower teeth.

What some people here in California do to escape the exorbitant dentist fees is to go to a dentist in Mexiko. Much less money. If it wasn't so far away I'd do the same.

Might want to try Mexiko for dental work.

I agree, obesity can have other causes and I certainly do not want to scold anyone with that condition. But the reality is that the vast majority is habit-caused. Every obese person I know out here has a habit of eating large quantities of not-so-healthy food at an astounding speed or run around with 64oz "big gulp" coke bekers. Nah, not the diet coke, of course, but the real stuff. They drive everywhere, never take a walk and hang in front of the TV most of the time (eating). That's the habits that make most of us sick.

Is it just me, or is the a fairly recent phenomenon? It seems most of this has happened in the last 5 years or so. I'm seeing young teenagers now that are carrying more weight than I thought possible. If you consider a normal weight to be a kayak, some of the girls are up in the battleship or aircraft carrier category.

Sadly, a lot of them have children. No education, no job, no prospects, no brains, and kids to feed.

Yep, that's another option if you travel regularly. So are other countries in that region. Some folks from here have major surgeries done in Thailand and other places, procedures that aren't urgent but need to be done. It sure beats bankruptcy due to inflated billing.

I can't afford the trip, and due to circulation problems, I doubt I could fly that far if I had the money.

I was drinking Diet Mountain Dew as soon as it hit the market, almost

20 years ago. I have cooked almost all of my meals since 1974. Low fat meats, lots of vegetables and some fresh fruit. I can't remember the last time I bought any butter or margarine. A box of salt lasts so long it hardens up, about 90% full. Its used when cooking pasta, then most of it goes down the drain. I have gone years without any candy, and I don't think I've had any sugar in the house since the 70s.

Another sad byproduct of the "Politically correct" world. Its "Wrong" to tell them what to do, and what not to do.

Two people I worked with at my last job were both over 300 pounds, and their 10 year old daughter was over 260 pounds. Her dad had to have heart bypass surgery, and ended up on long term disability. His doctor told him to stick to his prescribed diet and lose weight, or to not come back. The last time I saw him he was under 200 pounds, and had flaps of loose skin.

On 4/27/2007 8:03 PM, The digits of John Larkin's hands composed the following:

I'm using 2004SPII which is a great improvement on 5.01 IMHO and is still forward and backward compatible with 5.0x It appears that the real issue started with 2005 as far as I can tell. I don't know any issues with 2004 that are worth mentioning that are not also in 5.x. I do know many nice newer features in 2004 though.

That is good. Same here, less the Mountain Dew. We just don't like any sodas and here in the office I drink about 1/2 to 1 gallon of water a day, depending on how hot it is.

Sounds like a lovely place to tack on a week of vacation. That's quite popular in Europe. Whoever is sick goes into a clinic behind the Hungarian-Austrian border and the rest of the family drives on to one of the lakes. Health care over there is generally better than in the US but a lot of stuff isn't covered and for that they go shopping.

For dental work some folks go to Poland but I was told they bring the gold for crowns along.
