MPX4115AS Altimeter

Hi I have a few questions related to Motorola MPX4115AS

  1. When i try to test the MPX4115AS with Agilent Ascilloscope using
10:1 probe i can't see any change at all. Can anyone tell me why?

  1. Do i need an amplifer ?

  2. Are there any other circuits that i can use to make the signal less noisy ?

If you are not seeing any change, how do you know the signal is 'noisy'. The signal should be fairly clean, if your supply is stable. Remember the 'sense' ground, should be the directly connected to the device ground. What are you using as a pressure source?. The change from barometric effects is slow, and small (typically, only a few hundredths of a volt). Whether you need an amplifier or not, will depend on what range you want, and how you intend to sense the signal. For most applications, a simple microprocessor with ADC, will be used to read the signal, and you will have to scale the voltage to suit the ADC range, and sensitivity required. You can damp the signal in the processor, or with an external filter.

Hi,

I'm using ACSI 7270. First test seems good. I do acquisition with MAX

1463/1464.

Have a look at my project

for links. Schematics and software for my probe (static and dynamic pressure for altimeter and speed) will be published soon (some small adjustements to make). Good luck.
