what is the maximum possible speed on SPI Interface for MMC and SD cards? Is there any difference between the cards? Is it possible to do SPI communication with the new high speed rates defined ~50MHz or is the high speed rate possible via parallel interface only?

Conversion of parallel to serial (SPI) is done all the time.
The question is how do you want to do it ?
Are you looking for an off-the-shelf solution or do you want to design, build, troubleshoot your own.

PS: I have not seen a off-the-shelf parallel to MMC/SD device.
PPS: Speed of download to an SD card is only part of the time involved, there is also internal burn timing to consider.
