Low end TEK 'scope

We bought a new low end TEK, TEK1052B-edu ~$500. It's got a nice big display! I like it. The -edu version has some built in course-ware to teach students how to use the 'scope. A nice idea. (I haven't looked at it too hard.) One of the courses is running an Arduino, another for the MSP430 Another on the 555. TEK, trying to keep their foot in the low end market. I'll have to play with it a bit more. George H.

OK my first big complaint. The software for saving files is terrible. First off it lists all the files in the root dir. before the other directories (folders), so I've got to scroll down through whatever I have on the root to change directories.. OK a pain but not too bad. The real issue is that it takes days to scroll down with the "multi function wheel". OK days is an exaggeration, but scrolling through the file menu is buggy and slow. (I'm cleaning up the thumb drive so no files are in the root.)

I just snap a picture of the screen with a camera. That can include a post-it note to give some context.

That was the 2nd (of several) reasons why I bought Instek instead of Tek, At a client it took over 10 seconds to store a simple scope shot onto a USB drive. With myscope it's almost instant.
