Looking for this MIL connector

Hello,

I'm looking for a 19-pin socket according to MIL-C-26482. The pins are 1mm in diameter, and they are arranged within a hexagonal outline with about 3.3 mm inter-pin distance (the enclosing circle is 13.2 mm).

Of course the standard distributors carry tons of these connectors but I'm at a loss as which one to get because I can't find any real drawings with measurements.

All I actually need is the insulator piece with the socket pins because this connection is not a "real" plug-socket one. I just want to avoid having to plug each single wire individually. In fact a proper socket shell wouldn't fit in this place anyway.

Thanks,

--- From your description, what you want is what's called the 'insert' and the connector you're referring to is most likely an MS3470L1419P. the pins are MS39029/4-10.

Usually, the manufacturers of these connectors have huge stocks of components which they only assemble into specific connectors when they're ordered. The inserts are cemented into the shells and are impossible to remove without damage unless the shell is turned down to the point where the silicone insert has no metal surrounding it.

Knowing that you want only the insert and the pins, you should be able to order them, without the shell, from a distributor or maybe even get them sampled from a manufacturer.

Here's a good catalog:

For most MIL series connectors the contact arrangement and dimensions are given in the MIL standard. Go to the Mil Standard ASSIST web site, enter 26482 into the search and you should find the spec you're looking for.
