People usually mistake a lack of neurosis for arrogance. As perhaps the greatest philosopher of the last millenium said, "I yam what I yam."

Of course they don't match. It's ironic that, given what you posted above about me, you seem to think that they *do* match.

You seem to have enlisted in the hen brigade, which allows you to evade saying substantive things about electronics; a good move on your part.

Popeye stole that from the bible. The original is:

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

I truly don't care whether one hen clucks at me, or twenty. They're still just chickens.

What a coincidence:

" He blames the Web?s tradition of ?drive-by anonymity? for fostering vicious pack behavior on blogs, forums and social networks. He acknowledges the examples of generous collaboration, like Wikipedia, but argues that the mantras of ?open culture? and ?information wants to be free? have produced a destructive new social contract. Just more system dynamics.

All good stuff. Neurosis is being uncomfortable with who you are, which leads to bad design. Knowing and seeing yourself accurately is humility, the opposite of arrogance. God is not neurotic, because He sees all.

Of course, Popeye never claimed to be God.

I'm reading Petroski's great book "Design Paradigms." It's mostly about civil engineering, but he talks extensively about the interaction of personality and the success of designs. He especially admires John Roebling, who gave us the Niagra Gorge and Brooklyn bridges.

But you're still a horse's ass. And I'll be sober in the morning. Young bucks need to study history to find the amusement ;-) ...Jim Thompson

Supposedly attributed to Churchill, at a dinner, where he was quite inebriated. "Lady" next to him says, "Sir Winston, you are drunk". To which he replies, "Yes, madam, I AM drunk. And you are ugly. In the morning I will be sober. In the morning you will still be ugly".

I'm sure my quotation is a wee bit sloppy, from memory only ;-) ...Jim Thompson

WHY DON'T YOU INSTEAD POST A QUESTION ABOUT A CIRCUIT?

What in the world are you talking about? I'm not participating in the cluck-fest that's going on here. I'm not running vandalism scripts. Look around: I'm asking and answering questions about electronics, and these old hens aren't.

Which side of the chicken wire are you on? Engineering or poultry?
